Nothing more than a publicity stunt to get more attention to his blog

Japanese Apple fan and blogger Yoppy decided he’d get some attention by becoming the first person to stand in line for the upcoming iPhone 6.

He reportedly went into the Ginza store asking for inside information about when the phone would be released, and when he couldn’t get a straight answer, he fled the scene.

If you’re asking yourself, had Apple’s retail staff told him it was coming in summer, would he have stayed? Of course he wasn’t going to stand on the street for months waiting for the phone to launch!

The guy may seem crazy – all painted up and wandering the streets dressed as an iPhone – but remember that he’s only doing it to attract attention, and possibly some extra page views on his blog.

And I wouldn’t bet on that summer launch either. Apple has been launching its new iPhones as fall events for the past two years.
