The PlayStation Vita handheld from Sony has finally managed to take the leading position in the Media Create compiled Japanese video game chart for the week, just as Hatsune Miku Project Diva f, a title designed specifically for it, has taken over the number one position in the software top ten.

The PlayStation Vita from Sony has managed to move 50,070 devices during the seven-day period, which is an impressive fivefold increase in sales over the 10,880 that it has managed during the previous week.

Meanwhile, the 3DS LL handheld from Nintendo has also performed well, getting its sales up to 44,951 units coming from 41,901, and will probably take over the number one position in the hardware chart next week.

Third place was occupied by the normal version of the 3DS, which has a smaller screen, which continues to sell 29,342 units to gamers, about the same as during the previous week.

The PlayStation 3 from Sony is the first home console to make an appearance in the chart, selling 12,433 devices, a small increase over the 11,896 of the previous week.

The PSP stands on just over 10,000 in sales, while the Nintendo Wii is sixth with 8,680.

The PlayStation 2 stands just ahead of the Xbox 360, the DSi LL and the normal DSi.

Hatsune Miku Project Diva f is the best-selling game of the week, taking the number one position with 159,592 copies sold to gamers, with another new entry, Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers for the 3DS, taking second place on 69,365.

The last position on the podium belongs to Senran Kagura Burst: Guren no Shoujotachi, another 3DS game, from Marvelous AQL, with sales of 69,084.

The rest of the top ten is made up of: New Super Mario Bros. 2, Hyperdimension Neptunia V, Mobile Suit Gundam Age: Universe Accel / Cosmic Drive, Sengoku Basara HD Collection, Pokemon Black 2 / White 2, AquaPazza: AquaPlus Dream Match and Dragon Quest X.
