The 3DS handheld continues to be the best-selling piece of hardware on the Japanese game market at the moment, but the big news of the week is that there’s significant movement on the home console front, with the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4 and the Wii U all seeing some important increases.

The Nintendo-made device has managed to move 65,201 units to customers during the week that ended on November 16, which is lower than the numbers recorded the previous week and during the same period in 2013.

Meanwhile, the PlayStation Vita rival from Sony has managed to show a boost of about 9,000 units, as it reached 19,976.

The last place on the hardware podium is occupied again by the PlayStation 4, which has also managed to significantly improve its own numbers, reaching 15,537 coming from a little over 10,000.

Maybe the biggest surprise is the fact that the Wii U from Nintendo is threatening that position, currently standing at over 14,000 devices delivered to fans after it only managed to sell over 4,000 during the previous week, according to Media Create figures quoted by NeoGAF.

It’s unclear whether the performance suggests a long-term trend or it is just a sign that many fans are getting ready for the launch of Super Smash Bros.

The PlayStation 3 has managed to sell 4,711 consoles and even the Xbox One has shown a solid increase and currently stands at 2,245 units in terms of sales.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare conquers Japan

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has performed very well since its November 4 launch in the West, and for the week that ended on November 16, it also managed to get the number one position in the software chart in Japan with its PlayStation 3 version, with overall sales of 79,586 copies.

Second place was occupied by World Soccer Winning Eleven 2015 from Konami, known to most gamers as Pro Evolution Soccer 2015, which has delivered 71,303 units to gamers on the PS3.

The PlayStation 4 version of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare completes the top three, while the Xbox One version was nowhere in sight.

The rest of the chart includes: Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, coming from the number one position, One Piece: Super Grand Battle! X, Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, World Soccer Winning Eleven 2015 on the PS4, Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax on the Vita, and Yo-kai Watch 2: Ganso / Honke.
