The PlayStation 4 might be a very powerful next-gen console, but on its home market, the new device cannot seem to get past the rival Vita handheld, despite an improvement in its overall sales over the previous week.

The Sony mobile gaming platform is still the leader of the hardware chart, with 17,905 units moved to players, which is a decline coming from 24,078 during the previously tracked period.

The PS4 has managed to sell 14,396 home console to its fans, according to data from media Create quoted by Gematsu, while the LL version of the 3DS has moved 14,023 devices during the week that ended on April 20.

The PS3 continues to slowly decline and stands at 6,468 in sales, but it is still more popular than the Nintendo Wii U, which managed to only deliver 5,204 devices to its own fans.

Yo-Kai Watch is the best-selling video game in Japan for the tracked period, managing to move 34,690 copies in order to get past the 750,000 overall sales mark.

The rest of the top ten includes: 3rd Super Robot Wars Z: Jigoku Hen, Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn on the PS4, Ace Attorney 123: Wright Selection, Mario Party: Island Tour, 3rd Super Robot Wars Z: Jigoku Hen, Wagamama Fashion Girls Mode Yokubari Sengen! Tokimeki Up!, Juusanshi Engi Engetsu Sangokuden 2, Meitantei Conan: Phantom and Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes.
