The PlayStation Portable handheld from Sony managed to again top the weekly hardware sales chart on the Japanese market just as Pokemon Black and White has managed to again top the video game chart, just ahead of the newly released Kirby game.

The PSP has managed to see an increase in overall sales from 33,683 during the previous week to 37,127 units, putting it ahead of the PlayStation 3 home console from Sony, which managed to gain two whole places in the hardware chart by increasing its sales to 22,201 units coming from just under the 20,000 mark.

The DSi LL handheld from Nintendo against sits in third spot sold 21,084 units in a seven day period, almost one thousand units less than during the previous week, followed by the normal DSi, with similar sales and a bigger sales drop, and the Wii home console, a platform that managed to see an increase in terms of sales of a few hundred units after a few weeks of loses.

In the lower half of the chart the DS Lite managed to outsell the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 2 and the PSP Go, which managed to increase its sales to more than 1,000 units.

Pokemon Black and White shows no sign of relinquishing the top spot of the Japanese video game chart, managing to sell 168,541 copies in one week in order to easily dispatch its most important challenger of the week, Kirby's Epic Yarn, from Nintendo, which managed to sell 92,280 units.

Third place has also gone to a new comer to Japan, Lord of Arcana, from Square Enix and launched for the PlayStation Portable, which moved 69,932 copies to gamers.

Kingdom Hearts Re:coded also from Square Enix but for the Nintendo DS is in fourth place with sales of 31,247.

Fifth place goes to Red Dead Redemption, followed by Wii Party, Gekijouban Macross F: Itsuwarino Utahime - Hybrid Pack, Black Leopard: A New Tale of Yakuza, Class of Heroes 3 and Dead Rising 2.
