14 DAY TRIAL // A while back Sony introduced the odd perfume-bottle-shaped camera, a product that has been designed for ladies who adore taking selfies.
But this bizarre product didn't go on sale internationally and Sony is currently offering it only in Japan with a high-enough price tag. That’s because the Japanese market is home to some of the kookiest things we have ever seen.
Talking to a heart is no strange thing in Japan
Take the Ymobile Heart 401AB, which is a mobile phone that’s shaped like a heart (not an anatomically correct one, though). The device has a mechanism which allows it to be twisted into something akin to a sponge finger.
It’s obviously meant for the ladies, as we don’t see how gentlemen could be interested in this syrupy piece of gadgetry, although we’re talking about Japan after all.
As for specifications, the Heart 401AB is very modest. The Japanese carrier is hoping customers will be attracted to the phone’s odd shape, so they haven’t put a big emphasis on internals.
The device boasts a 0.9-inch display with 128 x 36 pixels, which is quite ridiculous compared to today’s standards.
The handset doesn't impress feature-wise either. You can place phone calls with it, but that’s pretty much all you can do, as the phone is not even SIM-supported.
Little girls will certainly appreciate the Heart 401AB
The Heart 401AB weighs only 59 g / 0.13 lbs and is 26 mm thick / 1.02 inches. The handset will apparently get a Sailor Moon edition, which makes sense given that Sailor Moon herself had a similar object as part of her costume.
Seeing how low specced the phone and the incoming Sailor Moon edition are, we’d had to say the Heart 401AB might be best suited for 6-year-old girls instead.
Especially since we don’t expect it to cost very much, although the official pricing has not yet been revealed by the carrier.
