Despite the fact that Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem: Heroes of Light and Shadow for the Nintendo DS managed a very good performance in its first week on sales sales of the Nintendo handheld actually saw a slight decline over the previous week, meaning that the PlayStation Portable from Sony is the best sold individual console model on the Japanese market.

The PSP managed to sell 26,786 units, which is about two thousand more than during the previous week, with the DSi LL from Nintendo, the most recent upgrade to the handheld line, saw a dip from 28,916 to 25,884. The bad week for Nintendo is compounded by smaller sales for the Wii home console, with sales coming down to 22,239 devices from 24,604. The PlayStation 3 from Sony has seen an increase in its figures, reaching 19,473 coming from 18,345 while the DSi is also seeing a decline, with potential buyers probably waiting for the launch of the 3DS. The Xbox 360 from Microsoft managed to sell 5,936 consoles, more than the DS Lite, the PlayStation 2 and the PSP Go model.

Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem: Heroes of Light and Shadow from Nintendo for the DS platform managed to move 136,000 copies during its launch week to take the first spot in the video game chart. Second place also went to a new launch, Dragon Quest: Monsters Battle Road Victory from Square Enix for the Nintendo Wii, with sales of 136,000 while third place is also a new offering, Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball 2010 from Konami for the PlayStation 3, which managed to move 120,000 copies.

The first older video game in the chart if Wii Party from Nintendo for the Wii, the game that took the top spot last week, with still solid sales of 113,000. The rest of the top ten is made up of: Last Ranker from Capcom; Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball 2010 for the PSP; Inazuma Eleven 3: World Challenge; White Knight Chronicles: Awakening of Light and Darkness; Harvest Moon: Twin Villages and Momotaro Railway Tag Match: Friendship - Cooperation - Winning Volume.
