The Wii U is showing early signs of a long-term rebound

Dragon Quest Monsters 2: Iru to Ruka no Fushigi na Fushigi na Kagi from Square Enix and the 3DS from Nintendo continue to dominate the Japanese software and hardware charts in the week that ended on February 16.

The handheld has managed to move 39,716 units to gamers, which is a decline when compared to the previous tracked period and to the same period in 2013, while the PlayStation Vita from Sony has remained essentially flat on 18,348.

The PlayStation 3 is moving a little over 10,000 devices to gamers, while the Wii U has seen an increase of about 1,600 units to reach 8,782, according to NeoGAF.

Dragon Quest Monsters 2: Iru to Ruka no Fushigi na Fushigi na Kagi has managed to sell 118,427 copies during the week.

The rest of the top ten includes: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, A-Train 3D, Kirby Triple Deluxe, Yo-kai Watch, Magi: A New World, Puzzle & Dragons Z, Puyo Puyo Tetris, Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme Vs. Full Boost and Pokemon X & Y.
