The Nintendo 3DS handheld has kept its number one position in the Japanese video game hardware chart while the newly launched Tekken Tag Tournament 2 fighting game has taken over the first position in the software chart.

The 3DS LL handheld has managed to move 35,870 devices to players, which is down from the 38,913 that it has managed during the previous seven-day period, while the normal version of the 3DS has managed to capture second place in the hardware chart, with sales of 25,033 units, almost level over the previous week.

The PlayStation 3 from Sony is the first home console in the Japanese hardware chart and it has even managed to deliver an increase in sales, going from 11,813 to 13,903.

The PlayStation Vita handheld is once again down to its usual level of around 10,000 units sold after a great performance a few weeks before, after the launch of Hatsune Miku: Project Diva f.

The normal PSP is below the Vita for the first time in weeks while the Nintendo Wii has only managed to sell 6,019 units.

The PlayStation 2 has performed better than the Xbox 360, the DSi LL and the normal version of the older Nintendo handheld.

The PlayStation 3 version of Tekken Tag Tournament 2, published by Namco Bandai, has managed to sell 62,630 copies during its first week on sale and was followed by Medalot 7 Kabuto Ver. / Kuwaga Ver. from Rocket Company, another new entry that has sold 49,519 units.

The last place on the podium was occupied by New Super Mario Bros. 2, with sales of 36,245.

The rest of the top ten is made up of: Shin Egokoro Kyoshitsu, Sengoku Musou Chronicle 2nd, Pokemon Black 2 / White 2, Accel World: Ginyoku no Kakusei for the PS3, Accel World: Ginyoku no Kakusei, Run For Money: Flee From the Strongest Hunters in History and Dragon Quest X.
