The 3DS handheld continues to be the best-selling piece of video game hardware in Japan and managed to move over 60,000 units to its fans for the week that ended on January 12, which is a big decline over the previously tracked period.

Second place was once more occupied by the PlayStation Vita from Sony, another device that has dropped more than 60 percent of its sales to reach 29,494.

The PlayStation 3 continues to sell pretty well in Japan, better than the Wii U, despite the fact that the PS4 is set to be launched in about one month.

The Xbox 360 has only managed to deliver 281 devices to players, says Gematsu.

Kirby: Triple Deluxe is the best-selling game of the week and has topped the chart by selling 214,208 copies during its first week.

The rest of the top ten includes: Puzzle & Dragons Z, Pokemon X & Y, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Monster Hunter 4, Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD Remaster, Yokai Watch, Sentouchu Densetsu no Shinobi to Survival Battle, Super Mario 3D World and Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD Remaster Twin Pack.
