The icy blonde on “Mad Men,” January Jones, was involved in a multi-vehicle crash the other day, resulting in serious damage. The actress seems to have lost control of her own car and collided with several other parked vehicles. She then left the scene to call the police, which resulted in talk of a hit and run. People is now reporting cops say that was not the case and that, most likely, the paparazzi were at fault for the crash.

The actress was in her car when she noticed she was being followed by several vehicles with paparazzi wanting to take her picture. She tried to speed to shake them off, but lost control of her car and hit several other parked vehicles, causing severe damage. Reports say she left the scene to call the police, but also suggest she might have done so because she had a few drinks earlier and did not want to have to take a breathalyzer when cops arrived.

“The actress, 32, was at the wheel of a Range Rover around 9 p.m. when she allegedly lost control and collided with several parked vehicles, resulting in major damage, according to TMZ. One witness tells police that Jones left the scene on foot, having said, ‘I can’t deal with this commotion.’ Jones returned later and said she had left the scene – and her license in the Range Rover – because she was being followed by paparazzi,” People writes.

“While being followed by paparazzi, Ms. Jones struck two parked cars. She did not flee the scene; she left her license with a witness and walked to her nearby home to call the police. She immediately returned to the scene to speak with the police,” the rep reveals. The LAPD corroborates the story, saying in a separate statement that there was no hit and run to speak of. “No crime occurred here. If this was a hit-and-run, Ms. Jones would have been arrested. She was being followed by paparazzi and hit two parked cars. She wasn’t under the influence of anything. No one got hurt. That’s pretty much it. There is no investigation,” LAPD officer April Harding unveils for the same publication.

Be that as it may, TMZ claims something is rotten in the state of Denmark, as the saying goes. For starters, a witness is stating the crash involved no less than 4 cars, including Jones’, as also does an early police report. After the actress’ spokesperson issued the press release, the police also changed the initial statement, saying only 3 vehicles were damaged. The story is developing, so keep an eye on this space for more details.
