In December last year, a very fit Janet Jackson spoke for the first time about her secret ally in the fight against the pounds: she had teamed up with Nutrisystem. Below is a new ad for the company.

The clip reveals Janet's drastic weight loss and, at the same time, makes women an offer they can't possibly refuse: get on the program now for 40% less money and get the same results.

In fact, this is the message that Janet is sending out too: this is what success looks like.

As she puts it, every woman thinking of looking her best this summer at the beach can get this body: Nutrisystem is easy to follow, healthy, effective and, for a limited time, cheaper than before.

“This is what success looks like,” Janet says smiling, before explaining that the plan is based on low glycemic foods, which leave you feeling full for longer.

A while back, Janet, who has struggled with her weight for most of her adult life, said that the secret to her weight loss was that she did not think of Nutrisystem as of a diet because, indeed, it was more than that.

Because it's not restrictive but, at the same time, it's very healthy, the program boasts of being able to help women lose 1 to 2 pounds (0.45 -0.90 kg) a week, while also allowing them to enjoy life's small pleasures, like a piece of chocolate or a cookie.

“I’m not putting a number on it. I don’t look at the scale. I’m going about it in a different way this time. I’m not viewing this as a diet,” Janet said when she first announced the partnership.

Unlike other celebrity dieters who become spokespersons of one program or another, she refused to reveal how much weight she'd lost on Nutrisystem.

That was not what was important, she said on Good Morning America at around the same time.

“It’s a matter of learning how to keep it off, that’s maintenance and they have a program for that. My success plan is to be healthy and feel good about me,” the singer explained.
