Janet Jackson fans have posted thousands of messages on the MTV and the artist's official site, complaining about the fact that the popular music channel is showing no support to one of the first MTV female icons in the history of music television.
Apparently, they are furious that MTV hasn't premiered yet or even announced a date of debut for the video 'Call On Me', the first single to be released from Janet's comeback album, '20 Years Old', despite the fact that it was already played on Wednesday on BET.
Most of the fans claim that all their messages were deleted from the site by the moderator for being 'obscene, vulgar, abusive or harassing comments', although they were far from that.
Rumor has it that MTV backed out on supporting the star because of the 'wardrobe malfunction' incident that went live during the 2004 Super Bowl, when Justin Timberlake ripped Janet's top and exposed her boob. The event was co-produced by MTV and, after the scandal blew wide open, it was heavily fined by the FFC.
For those who still haven't seen the 'Call On Me' video, a little heads-up: not that it's not good, but it certainly doesn't justify the $7 million spent to make it. And, by the way, Janet has seen better days, when she wasn't that concerned of looking so sophisticated... All in all, Mizz Jackson's over-mediated comeback is a little disappointing, to put it mildly. We know she could have done much better.
