Janet Jackson is coming out of a long and committed relationship with music producer Jermaine Dupri, with whom she was even reportedly considering settling down and starting a family. On the other hand, there is ladies’ man Colin Farrell, who has been linked to stars of the highest profile. What they have in common, as Entertainment Tonight puts it, is a fancy for each other.

According to the celebrity gossip publication, a spy saw the two stars dining together sometime last week. Not only did the unlikely pair eat food together, but they were also seated in a very secluded booth at a fancy restaurant and, what’s most important, looked very cozy while having dinner together, a spy assures ET. This can only mean that they are dating, is the conclusion ET draws – or, at least, starting to bond and will date soon.

“An unlikely celebrity couple may be emerging! ET’s special source spotted Janet Jackson warming up to actor and ladies’ man Colin Farrell. The two were seen last week sitting side by side in a booth at the renowned Polo Lounge located in the Beverly Hills Hotel,” ET writes. What the e-zine does not mention, though, is the fact that Colin’s current girlfriend has just given birth to his child, with speculation saying that the two are even considering marriage.

Be that as it may, it could very well be that, granted the report is accurate, Farrell is just a rebound man for Janet, several publications point out. As we also informed you back in July, the singer and her boyfriend of 7 years, music producer Jermaine Dupri, called it quits in the aftermath of Michael’s death. At the time, reports claimed that they had made the mistake of mixing business with their personal lives and that it eventually tore their relationship to pieces.

“His friends are telling people it’s over. They have been moving in different directions for a while. You shouldn’t mix business with pleasure. Janet felt their lives were too crossed and they should have kept things separate. Jermaine likes to be out there, mingling with everybody, and Janet’s more shy. She’s devastated. She’s busy caring for Michael’s kids. Janet’s the family’s backbone,” unnamed sources were saying for US tabloids, as we also reported.
