Janet Jackson Chops All Her Hair Off

Only at the beginning of this month, Janet Jackson had long, black hair, which she’d wear either in natural, soft curls or in complicated ‘dos, especially for red carpet appearances. Today, the singer chopped it all off, reveling on a recent outing in London a slicked back ‘do, which surely must have taken passers-by by surprise, the Daily Mail says.

Of course, Janet has never been – nor will she ever be – the kind to be stuck with the same look for long. Whether it’s her hair, her makeup or her fashion style, she’s always reinventing herself, finding inspiration in the most unlikely of places, while also making of her new look a highly personalized one. Janet has rocked short hair before – yet, her sudden change still managed to take many by surprise, as the aforementioned British tabloid puts it.

“Hailing from one of the world’s pre-eminent musical families, Janet Jackson is used to being recognized wherever she goes. But the singer left bystanders doing a double-take yesterday as she stepped out for lunch in London with a dramatic new hairstyle. Janet has had her long curly locks shorn off and is now sporting a new short crop which she wore in a slicked back, gelled style,” the Mail writes.

“The RnB star, 44, teamed her look with turned-up jeans, a black leather jacket and platform wedge heels. She was pictured leaving the Italian restaurant Cecconi’s in Mayfair with wealthy Qatari businessman Wissam Al Mana. Rumors have it Janet has started dating the 35-year-old industrialist. It comes after she split from her long-time boyfriend Jermaine Dupri after a seven-year relationship last summer,” the tab further says.
