Speculation about how the entire Jackson family considered Michael’s personal doctor and the last person to see him alive, Dr. Murray, responsible for his death has been around since immediately after the singer passed on. Now, in a first interview of the kind, Janet Jackson opens up about what Michael meant to her and, most importantly, how she’d like Dr. Murray to be treated, as the Examiner can confirm.

Ever since Michael’s death, Janet has been keeping a very low profile, emerging in the spotlight only on a couple of occasions, mostly to perform in honor of her late brother. A preview of an upcoming interview with ABC’s Robin Roberts (see video below) shows that, above anything, Janet believes Murray to be responsible for Michael’s death.

He should not be allowed his freedom or the right to continue practicing, Janet believes, lest he does the same to another person and ruins another family. “Speaking with ABC’s Robin Roberts in the forthcoming ‘In The Spotlight with Robin Roberts: Janet Jackson’ special, Jackson takes aim at embattled Doctor Conrad Murray. Murray, the last physician other than hospital staff to see Jackson before his death, was found to have administered a number of drugs just hours before. According to Janet Jackson, Murray should be held accountable for his actions and perhaps death of her brother,” Examiner writes.

It’s clear that Janet still has trouble dealing with Michael’s death, and the thought that Murray might walk a free man after the investigation is over seems to make it even harder for her. “He was the one that was administering. I think he is responsible,” the singer tells Robert in the preview made available, barely able to fight back tears. Only by holding Murray accountable for his actions will a similar tragedy be prevented, Janet also states.

The ABC “In The Spotlight with Robin Roberts: Janet Jackson” special airs today, Wednesday, November 18. The special episode also chronicles her return to the music scene, a comeback she is now fervently preparing, while also including the video for her latest single, “Make Me.”
