14 DAY TRIAL // Britney Spears’ younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, is getting ready to tie the knot. The 21-year-old mother of one has broken the happy news to her fans on Twitter, where she also posted photos of her new engagement ring.
The happy man is, of course, Jamie Watson, whom Jamie Lynn has been dating for about 3 years.
She doesn’t offer too many details about the engagement, but the smile on her face in the first picture attached to this article speaks volumes.
“Guess what????,” she writes in a short tweet accompanying it.
Shortly afterwards, Jamie Lynn posted another photo, this time a close up of her engagement ring, which is a gorgeous, huge, round-cut diamond surrounded by smaller stones.
“He did good,” Jamie Lynn writes.
As noted above, she doesn’t say anything about the engagement or about whether they have set a date yet but, considering her history, fans are hoping she will truly get to walk down the aisle this time.
Jamie Lynn was engaged once before, to Casey Aldridge, who is the father of her 4-year-old daughter Maddie.
She announced her pregnancy on the cover of a magazine (a weekly, no less), prompting outrage both because she was still too young to be a mother and because of the manner in which she chose to break the news.
After Maddie was born, she and Casey tried to make the relationship work but, after being on and off for a while, they eventually broke up for good in 2010.
As it happens, news of Jamie Lynn’s engagement comes only a couple of months after her more famous sister Britney has confirmed that hers was over.
Britney dated former manager Jason Trawick for years before he finally proposed. In January this year, though, they announced they would be calling the engagement off, with Jason also dropping out of Britney’s life as a business partner.
