Jamie Foxx is keeping a lot of Spider-Man fans guessing about his involvement in the next installment of “The Amazing Spider-Man” trilogy. He is in talks to play villain Electro, rumor has it.

“Dressed up as Electro for Halloween last night. Costume fits well,” Foxx tweeted the other day.

He wasn’t just cracking jokes either, Variety notes: the actor really is in talks to play the villain in the second installment in the franchise.

“Sony's ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ seems to be coming together faster than expected, as sources tell Variety the studio is in early talks with Jamie Foxx to play the villain in the movie,” the trade publication writes.

Superhero movie fans will know that this isn’t the first time in recent weeks that word of a casting gets out before everything’s official: Frank Grillo spilled the beans on Twitter about being in talks for Crossbones in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” a part he was confirmed for the other day.

Foxx will soon be seen on the silver screen in Quentin Tarantino’s “Django Unchained.”
