A couple of days ago, the guy whom we all loved to see in 'Seinfeld' as Kramer, flipped out during a stand up number he was doing in Los Angeles, at the Laugh Factory and insulted two black members of the audience by using the N-word. The whole thing was caught on tape by TMZ and the footage soon made all the rounds, both on the Internet and in the media.
Pressed from all sides and, most important, accused of being a racist, Michael Richards later apologized on Letterman, only to see that people were laughing at him. As of yesterday, KKKramer has a new spokesperson and a brand new PR consultant to help him get over this crisis as soon as possible and in the best way possible.
The comedian also spoke to the main leaders of various black groups and apologized in person again, but not all are convinced that he is not a racist, as he obviously claims. One of those people is Oscar-winning actor and (most recently) singer Jamie Foxx. The 'Ray' star said in an interview taken backstage the American Music Awards that Richards would better watch his back, 'cause he's gonna whop him if he ever meets him face to face.
'When I see him, it's on. I'm not going to let him get away with it. If I'd have been in the audience he would've had to put his dukes up. He probably should go get a private island somewhere, 'cause if I see him...', the fuming actor said about Richards' racist rant.
Jamie also said that he wouldn't have allowed Richards to speak like he did at a black man's expense. This stuff you just don't do, he says, adding: 'I would have whopped him on sight'. While some say that responding with violence to verbal violence is not right, that doesn't mean that Foxx feel no sympathy for the comedian. 'It's sad to see a person build such a career like that and have it torn down because of some things he was going through. He will eventually resurrect his career but it's sad to see it come out so ugly', the actor concluded by saying.
