Jamie Foxx has already done a couple of biopics with varying degrees of success, so it's really no wonder that he's been considered for the main part in an upcoming film about the life and career of heavyweight boxer Mike Tyson.

Variety has the exclusive that Foxx has been attached to a project that involves Mikey Tyson's life and that is going to be written by Terence Winter. Rick Yorn, the man who also is in charge of managing Jamie Foxx, is going to be acting as producer on the project.

Tyson's figure, considered to be influential in the last decades in the sporting world, has been a role coveted by many actors looking to make a dent in the business. The producers are also hoping that his name is going to be big enough to attract distributors, since, at the moment, the project hasn't been connected with any studio.

Mostly known for his ferocity in the ring, Tyson rose to fame at the end of the '80s and would go on to become one of the most easily recognizable figures in sport. After numerous wins in the early '90s, he took a turn for the worse and eventually landed in jail for rape.

Once out, he found it difficult to return to his former glory and was soon famous for his defeats rather than his wins. His most famous match remains to this day the bout with Evander Hollyfield, when he made headline news due to biting off part of his opponent's ear.
