14 DAY TRIAL // This can’t be: Jamie Dornan, aka the actor that most readers of E.L. James’ adult trilogy “Fifty Shades,” whose first novel “Fifty Shades of Grey” is getting the big screen treatment this month, deemed not good enough to play Christian Grey, has been voted the sexiest man in the world.
Glamour UK magazine has conducted a poll that saw over 8,000 readers take part, in order to determine who might be the hottest famous man – and Dornan came out on top.

Ironically, no one liked Dornan that much when he was first cast as Christian Grey. Even to this day, after we’ve seen plenty of him in interviews, photospreads and movie videos, the jury is still out on his suitability for such a popular character.
The fact that he was the producers’ second choice (they initially went with Charlie Hunnam), and not once a choice with the fans (who still would like Matt Bomer or Ian Somerhalder for the role), made sure that Dornan never got too much support online.
Sure, he is handsome and all that, but he’s not as hot and as sophisticated as he needs to be to make a convincing Christian Grey. Hence the surprise that he was voted ahead of Benedict Cumberbatch and even Tom Hiddleston, who have 2 of the largest and most loyal fanbases in showbiz.

The same goes for the number 4 on the list, British actor Robert Pattinson, famous for his role as Edward Cullen on “The Twilight Saga” film franchise. Indeed, his popularity isn’t what it was when Summit was still making those films, but even so, he probably has more loyal fans than Dornan.
The top 5 is rounded up by another Brit, Henry Cavill, star of the “Tudors” and the actor to most recently take on one of the most beloved superheroes ever, Superman. Cavill starred as Supes in “Man of Steel” and will reprise the role next year, when “Batman V. Superman” comes out, also directed by Zack Snyder.
Relative newcomer Theo James is at number 6: if the name doesn’t ring a bell, you will probably recognize him by his gorgeous face and body; he plays Four in the “Divergent” movies, and if we’re to believe what his fans are saying, he will be “going places” very soon.
Harry Styles of One Direction is at number 7, followed by Jamie Campbell Bower, whose appearances include a Volturi spot on “Twilight” and the male lead in the critically and fan-panned “Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.”
Jared Leto is at number 9: he is the second American in the top, along with musician Pharrell Williams, who rounds up the top 10. If you’re wondering where Aussie hotties Chris and Liam Hemsworth are, we should probably say that they’re at number 13 and 11, respectively.
