The highly anticipated big screen adaptation of the first novel in E.L. James’ “Fifty Shades” trilogy, “Fifty Shades of Grey,” doesn’t come out until February 2014 but Jamie Dornan, aka Mr. Christian Grey himself, is already busy promoting it.

On the one hand, this is excellent news for fans of the books who have been burning with anticipation to see the feature film for such a long time, because it will translate into much more exposure for the project. On the other, it’s bad news for those who believe “Fifty Shades” has already received too much media attention because, by the time it comes out, we would have been sick and tired of hearing about it.

Regardless of which side you are on, we’ll just say this: Jamie Dornan is a gorgeous subject to shoot, so his spread in the latest issue of Interview magazine is a feast for the eyes, whether you’re a fan of “Fifty Shades” or not.

The entire photospread is available at the link above. Some pics are too hot for a work environment, so proceed with caution. Then again, considering he’s promoting a movie based on an adult-oriented series of novels, it would have been shocking if they were of a more wholesome nature.

Speaking of the movie, Dornan tells the mag that he had to put in extra work to make a convincing Grey, both in terms of the clothes he wore and how he carried himself. So, while other actors may have to put on muscle mass or lose weight for a role, he had to get in shape and learn to be a person very much unlike his real self.

“I think there was so much more to Christian that we covered – someone who is careful to keep himself in shape, someone who spends obscene amounts of money on presenting himself. A lot of that work was done in the gym and with costume,” he explains.

Because he spent so much time in a suit, Dornan also had to learn how to move differently.

“I'm quite awkward in a suit because I don't have an opportunity to wear a suit very often, and this is a guy who lives in a suit – the best suit. That has to have an effect. But when you end up in a suit for 80 percent of the filming process, you become pretty comfortable with it,” he says.

“I don't really have choices in the material I get. So I have to make the choices in the way I play the characters. And I'm happy to get a chance to play Christian,” the actor adds.

That’s the most amazing thing he could have said about a role and a film few others but non-fans of the books want to see in a theater near them.

“Fifty Shades of Grey,” directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, also stars Dakota Johnson as Dornan’s ingénue love interest, and will be out on Valentine’s Day 2015.
