Hackers managed to deface the website of midfielder James Rodriguez. No offensive messages were plastered on the footballer’s web space, but the intruders posted a meme with the back injury of Brazil’s forward Neymar da Silva.

The sabotage was conducted by a group of hackers calling themselves [IN]SecInjcetion, according to online sources, and led to blocked access to the sections of the website, the media content, as well as the news area.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, July 8, before the Brazilian team encountered the German national players.

It almost came as a foreboding of the result of the match, that ended with the South American team being crushed by the Germans, who managed to win the match by a difference of six goals, locking their place in the final round of the World Cup 2014 football competition.

During the play between Brazil and Colombia, Neymar sustained a severe back injury (fractured lumbar vertebrae) from Colombian defender Juan Camilo Zúñiga. The trauma ended Neymar’s participation in the tournament.

The foul was punished by the referee, and FIFA announced that there would be no intervention from the Disciplinary committee because there was “no obvious mistake,” according to sports publication Marca.com.

Zúñiga apologized in a letter to Neymar over the weekend, saying that he had no intention of causing an injury.
