James Maslow and Peta Murgatroyd get down and dirty on Latin Week on Dancing With the Stars

The dancefloor was on fire the other night on Latin Week on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars, and James Maslow and his pro dancing partner Peta Murgatroyd were partly responsible for it. The two did the Salsa and, by the end of the routine, ended up with most of their clothes off.

You can see their raunchy routine in the video embedded below. Pointless to note, but it’s already drawn some complaints, with many viewers taking to social media and fan forums to complain that this is simply too much for a “family show.”

It’s not the dancing that bothered most but rather the fact that both Peta and James were left without many of their clothes halfway through the routine. In fact, Peta’s overalls came off to reveal a very racy red lace number that co-host Erin Andrews said would look just perfect in a Victoria’s Secret catalog.

James, meanwhile, had only his wifebeater ripped off.

However, if you look closely at the video, chances are producers weren’t surprised by the outrage. In the rehearsals footage, James is the first to tease it by asking Peta if she’s sure whether what they have in plan is ok with ABC. They’re also seen sharing knowing smiles, so this was planned.

On the dance side, forgetting for a moment about the controversy around the clothes or lack thereof, the routine was pretty amazing, wasn’t it? Even the judges and guest judge Ricky Martin appreciated it for what it was: a passionate, fiery but well executed number.

Check it out.
