At a post-Golden Globes party

Before “Avatar” was released, director James Cameron promised that he would sign all the autographs fans would ask him to sign – and his promise was caught on tape. The same goes for an incident dating back to late December, at LAX, when the director lashed out at a professional autograph seeker. The two made peace the other night, TMZ informs.

When word of the incident got out, it was believed the man whom Cameron rebuffed so harshly in front of the cameras was a fan. Granted, the fact that the man said he had paid money to see “Avatar” only to be insulted and refused such a small thing as an autograph did help to create that impression. Whether he was a fan or not does not really matter anymore, as the two called it a truce at one of the many post-Golden Globes party.

“James Cameron ran into his worst enemy outside a Golden Globes after-party last night – but instead of calling the guy a ‘[expletive]-ing [expletive]’ again – the award-winning director decided to make peace. It all went down at the Beverly Hills Hotel where Cameron recognized the professional autograph seeker on his way out – and decided to approach him,” TMZ writes.

Not only did the two finally come to terms, but the famed director even agreed to sign that autograph and sit for a picture with the man. “Unlike their last run-in at LAX – when Cameron denied his request for an autograph and called the guy an [expletive] – James extended his hand and engaged the ‘fan’ in some friendly banter. The two ultimately posed for a photo and parted on good terms... or maybe just good press,” the same media outlet says.

Back when the two first met, Cameron lashed out at the autograph seeker, telling him he had no right to invade his personal space like that, even if was only to ask for his signature on a piece of paper. When the guy would not give it a rest, the director proceeded to hurl insults at him, which got the autograph seeker even more upset, as we also told you at the time.
