The Empire movie magazine has revealed, during a longer feature on the franchise, that the upcoming James Bond: Skyfall movie is set to get a video game tie-in, which will be published by Activision Blizzard, the company which currently holds the rights to the virtual representations of the characters.

It’s not clear who might handle the development duties on the Skyfall video game.

Treyarch created the Quantum of Solace video game, Eurocom created the GodenEye 007 remake while Bizzare was in charge of Blood Stone.

The new game will probably use the same basic structure and characters like the Skyfall movie but will explore either a side story or some events which take place between the main set-pieces of the film.

Skyfall does not yet have a clear release date and more information on the game will probably arrive closer to the fall of 2012.

The studio has not offered any clear story details on Skyfall but the movie seems to take place in India, China and Scotland.
