The development team at Telltale Games says that it would love to acquire the license for the James Bond universe and create an episodic video game series that focused on the stealth and conversational aspects that are part of the character.

Kevin Bruner, who is a co-founder of the company, tells The Official Xbox Magazine that, “I’m a giant James Bond fan and I’m always frustrated by games that make him a mass murderer. He’s a super-spy, and that’s a different skillset. The films make him less of a mass murderer, and there’s not much killing in the books – more spying and intrigue.”

Most of the video games that have used James Bond as the main character focused on his skill with weapons, including the iconic Walter PPK, but have not managed to create situations where he is able to extract info via stylish and smart discussions with villains.

Despite the fact that Telltale Games would like to work with one of the biggest franchises in the world, the company is also thinking about creating its own unique intellectual property that could be also be used to power TV shows.

Dan Connors, the chief executive officer of the company, adds, “I think we’re looking more at ‘Can we engage some great storytelling mind to come in and work with us on something and make it not just a game franchise, but a full-on entertainment franchise with comics or a TV show and such and build it all together at once?’ We really see that as the next thing that’s gonna happen.”

At the moment, Telltale Games is working on the second season of The Walking Dead and on The Wolf Among Us.

This year will also witness the launch of Tales from the Borderlands and a new series based on Game of Thrones.
