Ever since all that 'Brokeback Mountain' (and, for some, even before that), Jake Gyllenhaal has become the absolute symbol of hotness. But, with the already mentioned Oscar-winning film, he did more than just break the hearts of all the girls and women out there - he also got a huge gay fan base.
All throughout this past summer, Jake has been constantly the target of all the US tabloids, for maintaining an apparently too close friendship with Matthew McConaughey and Lance Armstrong. At one point, they were even nicknamed The Three, for being the hottest male trio that ever lived (or did biking and other physical exercise) in Hollywood.
Soon, they even ended up in Splitsville because (rumor had it) Sony was doing a biopic on Lance and he was forced to choose one of his two best friends. He went with Jake (probably because he already had an Oscar, something that Matthew still couldn't get his hands on) but, ironically, at about the same time, their relationship also came to an end. No explanations, no anything. Not even a good-bye.
This is exactly the time when people began talking about Jake's sexuality (so you can see where I was going to with all the details on Mat, Jake and Lance) and about how he spent so much time with his male friends, instead of with the ladies, because he was gay.
This is exactly why the actor chose to open 'Saturday Night Live' with the most brilliant monologue ever, plus the best spoof of a popular song that was ever aired on television. The hunkie actor begins by saying that he wants to hear no more of those 'Brokeback Mountain' rumors, but ends up in a dress, a black wig and singing, for his gay cowboy fans, 'And I Am Telling You (I'm Not Going)', Jennifer Hudson's piece de resistance from 'Dreamgirls'.
This is totally better than Matt Damon doing the Britney Spears/K-Fed skit because, well, as weird as it may seem, Jake is totally adorable, singing in that falsetto and trying to imitate Jennifer's stage moves. In case you missed it, the clip is below. Spare a few minutes and see for yourselves that Jake can be sexy AND funny (this time, not simultaneously)!
