Just a quick notice to all iDevice owners reaping the benefits of evasi0n

Apple this week released iOS 6.1.3 to the masses delivering a few bug fixes and Maps enhancements for Japan. The update also contains a hefty dose of security patches, four of which target the evasi0n jailbreak tool.

That’s right, with the launch of iOS 6.1.3 yesterday, Apple has officially cut evasi0n’s umbilical cord to the iOS kernel, thwarting its ability to gain root access to the software. In layman terms (not that I’ve been overly technical so far), the jailbreak is dead!

But it’s still anybody’s guess whether this is the end of the road for evasi0n. The crafty hacking bunch who coded the software could still have a few tricks up their collective sleeve.

I’ve dropped a line to @MuscleNerd, @pod2g and @planetbeing with great hopes for an answer.

For those who are already using a jailbroken iOS 6 device, iOS 6.1.3 is not recommended as it will erase their jailbreak.
