One of the people helping out with the A5 jailbreak has announced on Twitter that the Corona kernel has been patched to resolve a problem with Apple’s iBooks application on jailbroken devices.

About an hour ago, the Chronic Dev’s Pod2g retweeted a fellow hacker’s update on his progress on iOS jailbreaks which reads: “With the invaluable help of @pod2g, I've patched the kernel in corona to make iBooks work without the ugly tweak called xBooks. Still no ETA.”

Some details are still unclear (such as what the ETA is for exactly), but a similar update from Pod2g himself issued earlier today, revealed that the people involved with the A5 jailbreak were making progress.

Pod2g specifically noted that he could not provide an estimated public release of the jailbreak for iPhone 4S and iPad 2 devices, but did express his belief that such a release was only days away.
