The developers at Cliffhanger Productions and the publisher gamigo have offered a lot of information on the multiplayer options that will be offered in the upcoming Jagged Alliance Online, the game that seeks to respect the original ideas of the series and update them for modern gamers.

The multiplayer modes include:

- Deathmatch – a simple, a two player battle which involves two mercenaries, with victory awarded to the last man standing; - Bounty Hunter – the players compete to reach the same target as stealthy as possible, with victory awarded to that who eliminates the target NPC first; - Search and Destroy – each side has three targets that need to be protected while those of the enemy are discovered and destroyed.

The two companies have also talked about the arenas for Jagged Alliance Online:

- North Africa –Deathmatch, a warehouse with narrow alleys made for fast paced run and gun action; - Central America – Deathmatch, long corridors and narrow passages set in a missile base; - South America – Bounty Hunter, a drug baron needs to be hunted down in a South American favela; - Italy – Bounty Hunter, a general is being hunted down on the narrow streets of a small city; - Morocco – Search and Destroy, a canyon with a bridge in the middle which will see players battle for a narrow choice point; - United States – Search and Destroy, two military camps that have been abandoned and now serve as battlegrounds.

Each of the arenas also has its own lobby and rankings system, along with a matchmaking system that evaluates and pairs gamers.

Cliffhanger Productions and gamigo have also announced that those who are taking part in the closed beta stage of Jagged Alliance Online have so far played more than 100 missions against the Artificial Intelligence of the game.

They are now able to also engage in the multiplayer modes that are unlocked as players get honor levels.
