Lately, Michael Jackson has been causing quite a stir with his many public appearances. Many say that they are not for the sheer fun of showing his face again (we all know how much he actually hates doing that!) but because he's trying to win back some of his fans, in preparation for the launch of his comeback album. Yes, the same one he has been working on for years!
But that's not what we're here to talk about: Michael Jackson was and will always be one of the greatest (if not actually the greatest) entertainers in the history of mankind. Nothing can take that away from him, no matter what others say, no matter how many times he screws things up by delivering bad performances or making inappropriate comments. When music is concerned, people tend to (or should) ignore who s/he is in real life...
But, when it comes to the way Jacko literally ruined his body, then there's more than enough room for irony and malicious darts. I mean, how can anyone pity a man who, probably ashamed of his race, chose to be white? How can anyone feel for a man who has undergone more plastic surgeries than the entire population of Colombia put together? And we already know that this is the country were a very large number of plastic surgeries are performed each year (for instance, in 2005, 450,000 women had their breasts augmented). Go figure!
You see, when I started writing this, I had my mind set on trashing Michael, not for what he is but for the way he is. The nose (and that thing that is growing on its tip), the chin, the deathly white complexion, the deformed lips, the red lipstick, that ridiculous weave, everything! But now, on second thought... what would be the point of it? He would still be ugly as hell, a monster of his own creation, a man who was not happy with himself and is now paying for it...
This is not meant to draw your sympathy or anything. It's still sad, though. Maybe Michael should consider letting it all go, stop hanging onto false illusions, stop living in the past. Chances are his career will never be as good as before so why not leave now, when at least some people still remember him in the light of his former glory? Just a thought, I don't know...
Seeing that I'm now completely bummed out, I'm going to leave you and go and try to find out the answer to a question that has been bugging me a lot lately: how do Jacko's kids see where they're going with those black scarves covering their faces? Also, if you come up with an idea that would help him stay out of hi-res cameras' way, make sure you send him an email or something. Just to show that you care... And ask him to lose the Ray-Bans: they went out of fashion, like, the same time that he did. Yeah, I guess I'm no longer down...
