Well, this is not exactly a cancellation but it can easily be called that. The 'Premium Christmas Party', which was supposed to take place tomorrow in Tokyo, has been pushed back until March 8th, when the secluded singer announced the organizers that he couldn't make it, without giving a reason for it. The fancy event, for which the most ardent Michael Jackson fans, would have had to pay up to $3,400 for a ticket that included food, drink, a couple of minutes with him and a signed photograph, has been announced since November. At the time, the star showed the utmost interest in meeting his Tokyo fans again and in having the opportunity of talking with them. However, over the weekend, Jackson had a sudden change of heart and he immediately announced the organizers of the ball that he won't be coming to the party. Although he was not even required to sing (but only to stay while it lasted in a separate VIP area), the organizers thought it would be best to postpone it than cancel it altogether. Besides the modified date, nothing else changes. The gala will still include dancers, bands and gospel choirs and people who already bought their 'premium' tickets will be able to 'meet and greet' the King in person. Plus, a new event has been added to Michael's agenda that will take place on March 9th, 'Fan Appreciation Day' and for which those interested can already purchase their tickets. This would have been Jackson's second public appearance, after the performance he gave at World Music Awards in London. Although that didn't end exactly as fans would have hoped... the organizers of WMA announced that Jacko would be singing his 'Thriller' hit, while in fact he only sang a couple of lines from 'We Are the World' and then left the stage.
