Jack Thompson Wants to Help EA Buy Take Two

- The attorney wants to eliminate the villain Strauss Zelnick

By: Calin Ciabai, Games Editor

If somebody decided to write a book about everything Jack Thompson did during his career as an attorney, he or she would definitely win some prizes. However, it would be sad to see a book now,
with so many things happening and showing no signs of stopping. Jack Thompson is, more than anything, an attention seeker – I have always promised to myself never to write a JT story again, but this guy just knows what to do to make you write about him after you had your good laugh.

The most recent email sent by Thompson to EA's CEO John Riccitiello proves it: he offered to assist Electronic Arts in its efforts to acquire Take Two, the GTA publisher. In his email (quoted by GamePolitics.com), Jack Thompson describes the T2 boss Strauss Zelnick as a villain and considers that it would be best for everybody to get rid of him:

"I am delighted to work with Electronic Arts to evict the Zelnick Trojan Horse from within Take-Two’s corporate walls. In doing so, I can get the new Take-Two into the clear as to the trouble I and others can send its way," Thompson wrote. "Zelnick is the source of trouble headed Take-Two’s way, not I, and EA can make the case, with my help, that such trouble can be avoided."

Hopefully, the fact that JT defended Mass Effect during the Fox News scandal (and the game was developed by BioWare, EA property) will have no effect on John Riccitiello and he will "forget" to answer the email. However, the most amusing thing is that Jack Thompson keeps calling himself a Take Two shareholder (and you might have to take that literally, as in one-share holder, probably) since 2005. Back then, he announced that he bought Take Two share(s), in order to attend and speak at the company's shareholders meeting. Unfortunately, for a good laugh's sake, his presence was never needed there.
