Rumor has is that Jack Nicholson is ready to wave the movie business goodbye. He's been an actor for five decades now, and some of the movies he's starred in are nothing short of legendary.

And yes, I'm thinking about “The Shinning” and “One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.”

Unfortunately, it looks like age is finally catching up with the actor.

A Hollywood film insider reportedly told RadarOnline that 76-year-old Jack Nicholson took the decision to give up acting after realizing that he was having memory issues and could no longer remember his lines.

“Jack has – without fanfare – retired,” the insider said.

“There is a simple reason behind his decision – it’s memory loss. Quite frankly, at 76, Jack has memory issues and can no longer remember the lines being asked of him,” he added.

The only good news is that, though he's abandoning his acting career, Jack Nicholson appears to have no intention to stay clear of the spotlight. On the contrary, he'll still attend social events.

“Jack has no intention of retiring from the limelight. He’s not retiring from public life, at all. He just doesn’t want a tribute,” the insider explained.
