The 'Nacho Libre' star has set his mind on bringing his fans a football movie, but not of the usual kind. Although the project is barely in its initial phase, do not expect to see something like 'Gridiron Gang', or 'We Are Marshall', or any other flick pertaining to the genre.
According to sources from the industry, Jack Black will base the idea for his movie, untitled yet, on an article that ran in the 'New York Times' and that came under the headline 'In College Football, Big Paydays for Humiliation'.
The story centered on a couple of unnamed colleges, where the big teams made it a habit out of giving huge amounts of money to the members of the weaker teams. In exchange for it, the big league boys demanded that the others play against them and lose, but lose admirably so that they can come out as the best. The money that changed hands on such occasions rose to thousands of dollars for forfeiting a single game, the article stated.
The project is yet at the beginning and Black, who will also serve as producer for it, has not yet found the perfect screenwriter to pen the story down for him. Up to this point, it is certain that the funnyman will also take on a small role, but he will not be the main star.
No approximate release date has been announced and no other further details are, at this moment, available but, considering that it will be Black the man who will run the entire 'show', it will definitely turn out to be 'light-hearted', to say the least.
