Since originally launched, Jabra's STONE Bluetooth headset proved itself as a huge success, but now it is time for the company to update this distinctive offering with the STONE 2 that apart from a new glossy finish also comes with a pretty cool voice command control option.

Allowing users to initiate calls by just naming the contact they wish to speak to, or to answer a call by simply saying “Answer,” this headset is also compatible with a wide variety of third-party apps, via the Jabra World of Apps, thanks to which the STONE 2 can be used for sending text messages, e-mails or even updating your Facebook status, all of these by simply using one's voice.

Furthermore, the STONE 2 will also state the name of the personal that it is calling you, or read out the phone number if it isn't among your contacts list, a GPS guidance mode being also available.

“The Jabra STONE has been a very successful product for us – both from a retail perspective through working with AT&T – as well as a consumer awareness perspective,” said Jonas Forsberg, General Manager North America, mobile division, GN Netcom.

“We set out to create something so different and unique in look and design that it would appeal to all types of users.

The STONE2 takes it one step further with an innovative Voice System, multimedia capabilities and optimization with a wide variety of voice enabled applications,” concluded the company's rep.

Designed for the iPhone, the STONE2 will land in AT&T stores starting November 21, its retail price being set at $129.99.

Although this is still a rather hefty price to pay for a Bluetoothe headset, you have to bear in mind the original STONE was launched at the same exact price point, so one could actually say this is quite a deal considering the extra features added to the mix.
