JVC is one of the most important manufacturers of audio/video equipment on the market, and has come up, over time, with quite a lot of innovative (some of them quite breathtaking) products. However, nothing compares to the monster rear-projection display they've just announced, as the HD-110MH80 will have a whopping 110-inch (2.79 meters) diagonal, larger than anything currently available on the market or announced by the competition ( Panasonic's 103-inch plasma panel as well as Sharp's 108-inch LCD).

The most important component of the HD-110MH80 (other than the display itself) is JVC's own D-ILA3 imaging technology, which scales the 1080 progressive resolution in order to assure high-quality image details, despite the television set's huge dimensions. Moreover, the device also incorporates JVC's own Genessa imaging processor, which can prove to be quite helpful when it comes to removing image noise and fine tune the color output, while HD-110MH80's built-in 110W lamp assures the fact that the users will enjoy top-notch images even in brighter environments.

As any respectable HD set should, the HD-110MH80 comes with a full assortment of media inputs, including 2 HDMI inputs, 1 component video input, one D4 input, one PC input, one S-video input, two FireWire connectors (for connecting directly digital cameras), as well as a 100 BASE-TX/10 BASE-T LAN terminal. Moreover, the device even comes with a telephone line (2400bps), a headphone terminal, as well as 4 speakers (two 12.5 and two 1.3 cm speakers).

The most important drawback, if you could call it that, is the fact that this monster weighs around 330 kilograms, at around 254.4 cm x 177.7 cm x 93.6 cm. It seems that this thing is so heavy that the manufacturers recommend the purchasers to actually reinforce the supporting floor before installing the HD-110MH80.

The HD-110MH80 from JVC will become available for preorder in July and the first models will reach consumers in October, for around $52,787.
