A comedy star playing the dramatic role was probably not the best idea

Ashton Kutcher’s JOBS has been as much of a financial failure as it has been a flop with the critics, according to Box Office Mojo, a source that dishes out movie charts and statistics.

The film played at 2,381 locations on August 16, and opened with an estimated $6.7 million in revenue or, using different terms, petty cash.

“Jobs had plenty of issues, including awful reviews and a comedy star playing dramatic (almost never a good idea). Most important, though, was the movie's apparent tonal issues,” according to the source.

Apparently, most people seem to have a problem with “the deification of Steve Jobs,” leading to beliefs that the biopic won’t be in theaters for much longer.

As I’ve said before, it’s a shame Kutcher’s likeness to the real character has been wasted on a sub-par film. The creators knew the expectations were high, but the story they conveyed seems to be taken from Wikipedia. Of course, people will notice.
