14 DAY TRIAL // Jennifer Lopez and beau Casper Smart are over after almost 2 years of dating. There’s a lot of talk about how the romance ended because he cheated on her with a couple of transgender models he picked up on social media, but a new report suggests that it was their careers and busy schedules that actually took a toll on the relationship.
There was no cheating on either part because the two had actually called it quits long before he supposedly started texting those women he picked up online. Us Weekly goes with the story running in several other glossies, that Jennifer and Casper broke up about 2 months ago.
An insider claims Lopez went “back and forth about the breakup” but eventually decided it was best if they went ahead with it. The decision was made after a period of deliberations and after realizing that they were simply too busy to have the time to dedicate to each other.
Apparently, the fact that Casper was growing tired of being Mr. Jennifer Lopez also played a part. Until just recently, he had accompanied Jennifer all over the world either in the capacity of boyfriend or of dancer / choreographer.
That was until he decided he wanted to be more – and that only a career in acting could help him achieve his biggest dreams.
“He is trying really hard to launch his acting career,” says another source for the tab. “He doesn’t want to be known as just her boyfriend.”
He’s already had a couple of appearances in “Step Up 3D” (which is actually a dance movie) and “Restore Me” (a sports movie), and he’s itching to get more work done. He dreams of a career as an actor and / or producer and he is willing to dedicate himself to it 24/7.
Jennifer, no stranger to wanting to crossover from music to acting, has been very supportive of his efforts so far. “Casper is focused on acting and going on auditions, and Jen has completely supported that,” the tipster shares.
Seeing how the two are still friends after the breakup, our guess is that she continues to support his acting efforts.
Whether he has what it takes to cross over is an entirely different matter. Not few will be those saying that Casper would have been better off with Jennifer because she has the star-power that could have opened countless doors for him in the industry.
She might have never made it in Hollywood as high up the ladder as she wanted, but she still has a lot of pull with the right people and the very least Casper could have counted on was that she would get him jobs and exposure.
Now that they’re no longer together, he has no one but his skills set to recommend him; well, that and the fact that he’s ex-Mr. Jennifer Lopez. “Restored Me” is now in post-production and will be out later this year. We’ll see if he has what it takes to make it big in Hollywood then.
