JCP Presents New Housing for Mini ATX Motherboards, JCP-MI-111

With the many latest releases of high-end hardware products in the lines of graphics adapters and ultra high-end configurations, little time was left for introducing other products with wider functionality. The Radeon HD 5970 and Maingear's SHIFT are only accessible to high-end users, whereas Viewsonic's VOT530 and VOT550 mini PCs are, although quite capable, not very customizable. For those users who have a reasonable hardware know-how and who are interested in putting together their own, diminutive configuration, Jet Computer Products, a company based in Hannover, Germany, released its miniature casing, the JCP-MI-111.

This compact PC case is only large enough to accommodate mini ATX motherboards, making it an option most suited for building a customized Home Theater Personal Computer (HTPC). Measuring only 4 (W) x 29.3 (H) x 24.5 (D), the chassis weighs slightly under two kilograms and can allow the connection of one external 5.25” hard drive, with internal space for one 3.5” drive. This HTPC-oriented casing also has front-placed audio and USB ports for I/O connectivity and a glossy finish.

The product is also made user-friendly. The optical-drive installation is made tool-free and the chassis itself can be outfitted with two fans, namely one 80mm fan at the front and a smaller, 60mm fan at the back. The case also features one expansion slot for an increased usability.
