Yesterday, the 'American Idol' star, Jesse McCartney blurted out during a radio interview that the reason for which Jennifer Lopez backed out on the 'Dallas' remake was not that she was fired or not OK with starring opposite John Travolta (as rumor had it), but because she was pregnant.
Jesse was doing the interview for promotional purposes on his latest album, 'Right Where You Want Me', but got side-tracked from the topic and let it slip that he was dating actress Katie Cassidy, who has been signed on the project as Lucy Ewing.
The interviewer then asked him if that means that he knows the causes that made the Latino diva abandon the movie, or any details about her being fired, to which Jesse abruptly answered, obviously without thinking twice: 'She didn't get fired. She quit'. Immediately after that, he turned to his assistant and said, while still on air, 'Was I not supposed to say anything?'.
Jennifer and Marc Anthony's publicists refused to answer calls seeking comment after the interview with the young idol got aired. But last night, one of J-Lo's spokespersons made a public statement according to which the performer is far from pregnant. 'She is 100% not pregnant', the representative said.
Another source close to the singer talked to 'Us Weekly' and stated: 'Jesse McCartney doesn't even know Jennifer. His girlfriend [Katie] has never even met Jennifer. She just got cast in the movie after Jennifer was already out. Jennifer is shooting the cover of a high fashion magazine. Do you think she could wear couture if she was pregnant?'.
That must make the younger performer a liar, no?
