J.K. Rowling knows when she's got a winner. The world collectively shed bitter tears when the British writer announced that she was putting an end to everyone's favorite boy wizard, but it now seems she's had a change of heart.

There is a new piece of writing in the Harry Potter universe, and it's not a flashback or some trickery like that, it's an honest-to-God story that takes place after the ending from “Deathly Hallows,” the last book in the series.

The new piece is written in the form of an article and it's titled “Dumbledore's Army Reunites.” It's made out to seem written from the perspective of gossip columnist Rita Skeeter from The Daily Prophet newspaper and, as you'd imagine, it deals with Harry Potter, who is now 34 years old.

We find out from the article that he's sporting “threads of silver” in his hair and even a mysterious new scar on one of his cheeks, hinting towards some unknown confrontation. He is busy attending the Quiddictch World Cup final and he's accompanied by his young sons, James and Albus Potter.

The rest of the story is going to bring to attention some other Harry Potter characters, such as Ginny Weasley, Ron's sister and Harry's wife, who is now a reporter and writing about the Quidditch World Cup, Hermione and Ron, who has since become an employee at the Ministry of Magic, not to mention the co-manager of Weasley's Wizard Wheezes (also, he seems to be balding).

Now, after we've lifted you up with this report on a possible continuation of the story, it's time to brutally let you down: the story isn't publicly available, it's only for people who are subscribed to Pottermore. As you can imagine, since the article was posted, the site isn't working on optimal terms.

The other bad news is that TheBookSelller got in touch with Rowling's spokesperson, and the general consensus was that the author has no clear plans to follow up on this story and provide an outlook about the current life of “older Harry.”

So, for now, you're going to have to make do with the 1,500-word long story that's a newspaper report on the Quidditch World Cup and keep your fingers crossed that Rowling is going to have a change of heart in the near future.

In the meantime, Warner Bros is getting ready to bring to the screen the movie adaptation for Rowling's “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” which is a spinoff from the Harry Potter books. The first installment is ready to come out on November 18, 2016.
