Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja is the role-playing game that was originally launched in Japan under the name of Gōma Reifu Den Izuna. The title follows the pink-haired ninja Izuma, as she tries to find her place as an unemployed ninja. She, along with the rest of her clan, finds herself abandoned by her master, Mugen, and kicked out of his castle. Considering the silent assassins as archaic weapons, he discards them and cuts off any ties with them. They eventually find a village that would accommodate their needs, but things go from bad to worse.
Soon after settling in this village, as the ninjas decide to night at the local inn, Gen-An, their “Grandboss,” disappears. In her attempts to find him, Izuna upsets the gods of the village and everyone in and around it starts acting strangely. To fix the wrong she has done, as well as to find Gen-An, she must descend into the various shrines of the gods and appease them.
The game was published by Atlus U.S.A., Inc. and developed by NinjaStudio Limited. It was released on June 8, 2006 in Japan and on February 20, 2007 in North America. The title is a top-down perceptive dungeon crawler, in many ways similar to Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. Inside the dungeons, the players take turns fighting monsters, moving across a single-floor tile or taking an action every round. If gamers are defeated inside the dungeon, they will be returned to the village, while losing all their money and items. As the game progresses, they will be able to store in a safe house their money and special items.
HINTS
Continuous weapon power-up
Once you get to the Fire God's dungeon, you can continue to upgrade your weapons without stopping. Simply fight inside the Fire God's dungeon and find several burn-in orbs. Fill up your weapon with Zoufuku Talismans (increases the SP capacity of your weapon; the Zantetsu sword that ignores defense is recommended), then burn them in with the burn-in flame. Your increased SP capacity will remain on the weapon. After that, keep filling your sword with Rekka for attack, Mikagami for defense, Kaishin for critical hits, and Mikiri for evasion. Keep burning them in and switching to Zoufuku for more SP, and your sword will have incredible stats by the time you finish. Be sure to keep an un-burned Kikan talisman stuck to it, just in case you actually are defeated
