The results of the latest study performed by the market research company Synovate reveal that the top three “most beautiful countries,” at least in what men are concerned, are Italy, USA, and Russia. The voters, namely around 10,000 men and women coming from 12 different countries, were asked to nominate the nations having the most attractive males, and to state their opinion about masculine beauty. The researchers were interested in finding out how both genders, that is men and women, related to the matter. The results were surprising, and cultural differences seemed to arise.

The fact that the Italians were on top of everyone else confirmed, once more, their great reputation worldwide, as this particular country wasn't even nominated to participate to the survey. Nevertheless, when it came down to country-pride, Russia and South Africa ruled, by far.

The Russians seemed to have the highest level of self-esteem, with 65% of the respondents, both men and women, believing that their nation boasted the highest level of masculine beauty. Whereas 63% of the South-African women considered that their men were the most handsome of all, only 51% of the males coming from the aforementioned state had the same opinion.

Revealing how important the looks were for men was another interesting feature of the study – final results showed that more than 30 % of the ones questioned agreed that one's appearance had a major impact on theirs peers. Still, significant differences of opinion were revealed. The South-Africans and the Australians marked the extremes – while 61% of the men from South Africa were seriously preoccupied with the way they looked, a scarce number of 12% of the Australians even considered worrying about that aspect.

Funny enough, even the ancient “battle of genders” had an unexpected happy ending. Fortunately, when it came to hygiene, both men and women believed that, in order for a male to be considered attractive, he had to keep a strict hygiene and a fresh breath. The top three most-used products for men included the deodorant, the whitening toothpaste, and the aftershave, followed by the lip balm, body moisturizer and the conditioner.
