Apparently, Samsung's first Android tablet does not meet the manufacturer's expectations when it comes to sales. Dubbed as the main iPad rival, Samsung has recently announced that it sold around 2 million Galaxy Tab units worldwide.

However, it seems that customers prefer Apple's iPad due to its higher quality build materials and better design.

To improve things, Samsung is trying to lure customers with special offers and price cuts. After several North American carriers have decided to cut $100 from the device's suggested retail price, Samsung decided to give a boost to European sales with new promotional offers.

In this regard, Samsung Italy has recently announced that it will offer a free Wi-Fi-enabled ML-1865W printer to every customer who purchases a Galaxy Tab.

The promotional offer is available to every customer who buys the tablet and registers it at the manufacturer's website by February 28th. According to Samsung, after the registration is completed, the printer will be delivered at the recipient's address.

Even though the Galaxy Tab is the first tablet to run on Android 2.2 Froyo, it seems that customers weren't impressed at all, as the platform wasn't optimized to operate on this kind of devices.

The tablet is powered by an ARM Cortex A8 processor 1 GHz processor (with PowerVR SGX540 graphics). It comes with a 7-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors support and 600 x 1024 pixels resolution.

The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass display and features multi-touch input method, accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate, three-axis gyro sensor, proximity sensor for auto turn-off, as well as Swype text input.

Other interesting features include: HSDPA 7.2 Mbps, HSUPA 5.76 Mbps, 16GB/32GB internal memory, 512 MB RAM, microSD, card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity and Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP support, 3-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash, camcorder (720x480@30fps), as well as secondary 1.3-megapixel camera.
