It's Desertion Time in the HD-DVD VS Blu-Ray War

The HD-DVD and Blu-Ray players should better hurry and come out, otherwise the war of the formats might become even bigger than the unsolved conflict between Windows and Linux.

And, as most wars involve treasons. Paramount, one of the studios considered as one of HD-DVD's
strongest allies, has packed its bags and ran off to the enemy.

The decision was adopted after the support for HD-DVD expressed by Microsoft and Intel has put Blu-Ray in a tight spot.

In fact, Paramount will still offer its movies on HD-DVD discs, which is a very good clue on what the movie companies will try to achieve in the near future.

After all, it doesn't really matter which format wins. It's all about the profit. So don't be surprised if you find out that another traditional Blu-Ray ally will switch soon to HD-DVD.

Therefore, choosing between a format or the other has become a matter of personal choice.
