Who said 'Justice is blind'? Because whoever said it wasn't obviously thinking about Pete Doherty when he came up with the idea that we are all equally legally responsible. The Babyshambles rocker has been in jail this past year more than Lindsay was in the hospital and Britney flashed her coochie... put together! And yet, he did not get one sentence to send him to do some serious time. No, instead he got sent to rehab a couple of times, came out after the program ended or left of his own will in the middle of it and nothing happened to him. All the more, his superstar status has reached new dimensions, with female fans screaming his name outside the court house and people raving about how talented and basically a good man he is. To add more fuel to the fire (maybe he is trying to get a judge to sentence him and just can't seem to succeed!), Doherty was apprehended again, after he was involved in a stolen car police chase and chose to flee the scene of the crime. He and another mate apparently stole a vehicle and then started driving around, until a marked police unit spotted them and summoned them to stop. Of course, they didn't. Instead, a chase like we see in the movies ensued and, after a while, the driver stopped the stolen car and got out. Pete, in his turn, tried to make good his escape, but was caught in the nearby fields after another half an hour of chasing. His friend, the one who was driving the car, was charged with driving under the influence and grand theft auto. Pete was taken to jail and released a couple of hours later, without even being charged. The good news is that there's still hope for supermodel Kate Moss - she and Doherty did not get married in Thailand on New Year's Eve and he certainly has no intention of making an honest woman out of her, as the saying goes. 'Kate and I are in love - I worship her - but we're not going down the aisle. I'm happy the way it is.', he told the audience present at his pre-arrest gig. Then again, he also says he's off the drugs...
