It's raining cats and dogs, and Windows Server Longhorn Beta 3... Microsoft has decided to go overboard when it comes to getting users access to the first public milestone of what can still become either Windows server 2007 or Windows Server 2008. Although, in this regard, the Redmond Company seems to have already made up its mind, and it's leaning towards
Windows Server 2008. In fact, Microsoft France has even published the logo for the upcoming release of Windows Server.
In the meantime, Microsoft is struggling with innovative ways to distribute Windows Server Longhorn beta 3. Sure, the download is available to all users, but innovative is the
keyword here. And in fact Microsoft has debuted some unorthodox Windows Server Longhorn beta 3 code distribution processes.
The video embedded at the bottom will allow you to have a look at the new and unusual ways - to say the least - that Microsoft has tried out for Longhorn distribution. You will be able to get a sneak look inside the Windows Server Longhorn beta 3 DVD Duplication Lab in Redmond. And this in itself is a once in a life time opportunity.
Additionally, users can see the Windows Server Team hard at work, and brainstorming over beta 3 distribution under the lead of none other than Iain McDonald, the director of the Windows Server group. The ideas thrown around are mind blowing, to say the least. And Microsoft will surely reinvent the wheel with the revolutionary Longhorn beta 3 distribution methods.
On a personal note... Microsoft has turned a new leaf when it comes down to marketing approaches. The Windows Vista Wow campaign could have benefited from such relaxed and humorous perspectives. This video is just one in a series compiled by Microsoft, starting with the promotion of the Office 2007 System, the oFone and the Forefront website. Hope you enjoy it just as much as I did.
