Hey Bessie, you think anyone's seeing something on their screens?

The first thing that pops into your chauvinist pig brain when you read a title like this is...well, LOL. But that's not the right impression, my friend, as I know plenty of girl gamers that kick ass even at the

most manly of games. What am I saying here, manly games? There aren't any manly games or girlie games, just violent or innocent, well except Barbie Horse and Ride which is 0 girlie. Oh, and maybe The Power Puff Girls. OK, so there are some girlie games, enough already!

Sites Gamergirlsradio.com, Gameinatrix.com and the KRT Ladies have announced today the 2006-2007 nominees for the Girl Gamer Awards. KRT Ladies is the female division of the KRT Professional gaming clan. It provides a safe and friendly environment for female gamers. The Ladies division collected nominations from various female hosted sites and forums, such as Xbox's Gamer ChiX, last month and today the polls opened, allowing female gamers to vote for their favorite game, genre, and console, via Gameinatrix.com. Gamer Girls Radio host, Danger Doll stated: "We are furthering our efforts to bring more awareness of the female gaming community. This is one of many steps we will take to ensure that developers have the information they need from female gamers to help them market to us better."

The polls will remain open for a month, at which time the winners will be presented with a seal stating the game is "Girl Gamer Approved". Votes will be carefully monitored, the number of votes will be constantly updated and there will be specifications concerning the gender of voter, age and area: "This data is imperative to anyone trying to figure out how to market to women. Knowing which games women already love and what they are doing right, will hopefully also help them figure out what they are doing wrong," said Danger Doll.
